Birmania

A lot of people still think that Myanmar is not safe to travel even though it was over two months ago that Cyclone Nargis had struck the country. But seeing is believing.

Recently a member of our Bangkok sales team led a group of travel agents to Myanmar on a 7-day fun filled educational tour. The group started from Yangon to Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Inle Lake then ended Yangon. All planned sightseeing tours were carried out smootly as all roads and tourist places are accessible. But it was sad for them to see very few fellow tourists around especially in Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake because these areas were not hit by the cyclone.

“It was a wonderful experience to travel to Myanmar and learned that Myanmar is safe. I expected to see residues of destruction caused by the cyclone but I hardly spotted any. Everything looks normal. I would regret not joining this trip and miss out an opportunity to witness with my own eyes spectacular archeological sites dated centuries back. I would definitely go back to Myanmar. And I would like to encourage others to travel to Myanmar so they can experience what I have.”, said Khun Jiewpijit, an Assistant Travel Manager of Asia Web Direct in Phuket.

This group of people has painted their pictures of Myanmar and they love them. What about you?
