Day: Santander
We start our trip in the cantabrian capital’s Santander, Santander opens out to the sea. It is a peaceful, cozy city located on the northern end of a large bay, this city is set in beautiful surroundings. Our local guide will show you the city, we will see the Sardinero’s beach, The cathedral, the Magdalena’s Palace and the casino between others.
At 1941 a big part of the city was destroyed by fire, It was then rebuilt as a modem city, with many parks, broad avenues and public spaces such as the Plaza Porticada and Paseo de Pereda (Pereda Promenade). Among the most important sights to see there is the Gothic cathedral
whose baptismal font was once, in all likelihood, the ritual washing fountain of a mosque. The cathedral also has an interesting crypt with three naves.
The Magdalena Palace was built by the city and offered as a personal gift to Alfonso XIII and his wife Victoria Eugenia for their summer stays in Santander. Today it is home to the Menéndez y Pelayo International University. The Magdalena Peninsula, on which it is situated, is a beautiful, popular public park with a minizoo, playground, restaurants and cafés.We will stay all the day in Santander, at late evening special welcome dinner, after, visit to the Sardinero Casino which is a brilliant, glittering place to enjoy. Overnight in Santander.


Day: Santillana del Mar
After breakfast, we will drive to Santillana Del Mar, the Cantabrian Autonomous Region is one of the places on earth in which mankind's prehistoric past is best preserved. There we will visit the Caves of Altamira, which have been described as the Sistine Chapel of Paleolithic art. But the vivid, graceful drawings of bison and deer, dating back 14,000 years, have been off limits to most visitors since 1982, when it were closed for a best preservation. Now every line, crack and crevice of the homage to the hunt has been recreated, a few hundred meters from the entrance to original caves. After visiting the caves we will see the medieval town of Santillana del Mar. After that we will drive to Suances . located in a privileged situation, in considered one of the most beautiful villas on the Cantabrian coast, dinner in Suances and return to Santillana el Mar.Overnight.


Day: Liébana's district, walking routes from Potes
After breakfast we will drive to Potes, this will be the starting point of our visit to Picos de Europa. Potes, as it is located in the centre of Liébana´s valley is a strategic point to go on any hill-walking route and get to know the natural beauties of the region which is a natural paradise for hill-walking lovers. Visitors, will be able to totally enjoy its valley´s enchantments, with villages still preserving some manor houses, a traditional architecture, and
the memory of a rich and important history. In Liébana time stops to better listen the mountain rivers and streams´ murmur. You will enjoy the feeling produced by coming in direct contact with impressive woods and an extensive and varied vegetation, as well as a rich wildlife where some endangered species can still be observed. Climbing up the cols and summits in Liébana will allow you to contemplate with a bird´s eye the beauty of a region where nature acquires its maximum expression.
There are many walking-routes starting in Potes, we will stay 2 days walking through the valleys, the mountains and the incredible landscapes of Picos de Europa: It must be said that the attractions of the zone are not only its amazing nature, the art lovers will enjoy the medieval and romanesque buildings filling the route. From Santo Toribio to the church of Santa María de Lebeña; extraordinary example of Mozarabic art, and along Santa María de Piasca;
Romanesque jewel, Liébana District keeps one of the most rich historical-artistic patrimonies in Spain.
This route will show us the typical gastronomy of the zone where cheeses and "orujo" prevail, on their own right, are attractive additions, not secondary, to visit this Cantabrian region.Overnight in Potes.


Day: Cangas de Onís
Cangas de Onís is a compendium of history, religión and nature, with its biggest part of territory inside the national parc of Picos de Europa, is considered a door to this impressive mountains, and the starting point to many walk excursions: Cangas de Onís I presented to the visitor as a city combining pèrfectly its ald village flavour with the animation and services of a modern city: Joining to this open character its condition of marine sanctuary.
Its privilegied location, at feet of the Picos de Europa, and near the seaside (less than 25 km distance to the best oriental beaches). Nowadays Cangas de Onís offers you magnific tourist services, perfectly adapted to the natural landscapes.
In the morning we will visit the city and in the afternoon we will make a route through the nearest beaches. At late evening we will come back to Cangas De Onis, dinner at hotel. Overnight.


Day: Oviedo
After breakfast we will drive to Oviedo, which will be the end of our trip. Oviedo the Principality's administrative capital, rose to the pinnacle of its splendour at around the time of the 9th century when, by royal decree, it became the capital of the Christian Kingdoms.
A tour through this elegant city gives one the chance to admire the most outstanding examples of pre-Romanesque art, namely, the Churches of Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo, as well as the impressive San Julián de los Prados, all of them declared Mankind Heritage by Unesco. Obligatory port of call during centuries for pilgrims on the Way to Santiago de Compostela, fascinating museums and a restored town centre, with lively squares and narrow thoroughfares.
At late evening, dinner in a central located restaurant where we have prepared a special end of trip dinner. Overnight.


Day: End of the trip
After breakfast, our local guide will pick up the group at hotel, to go to the Airport. End of the trip.
